OUR TEACHERS

Our teachers are Montessori-trained and have qualifications from recognized Montessori Education Centers together with several years experience in pre-school education. The teaching assistants have experience gained in Montessori pre-schools and/or are in the process of completing Early Childhood courses. All staff are required to have up to date first aid and CPR training. They are also trained to recognize illness and discomfort in children.

Our staff are caring, positive role models who show equal respect for every child. They are innovative and sensitive to the needs of each child in our care.

Jenny Wright-Johnson,
Owner/Kindergarten Teacher

Jenny Wright-Johnson did her Montessori training a few years ago with the St. Nicholas College of Montessori Education in London via TCC in Virginia Beach. She opened the school in 1996 and is the Kindergarten teacher.

Jenny was born in England, lived in the Netherlands for eight years before arriving in the States for what was supposed to be three years. That was twenty odd years ago. When she visits Europe she always books a return ticket in advance.

Yvette Bretherton, Director

Yvette Bretherton Yvette was born & educated in England where she established and operated a pre-school. Since that time she has lived in both Germany & The Netherlands, always finding an English speaking school where she could substitute or volunteer. She moved to Virginia Beach in 1989. Yvette has worked at Windsor Woods since it opened, initially as a teacher, but now almost exclusively in the office as the school administrator and Director.
